December 2021

We have received further clarification from NYS in regards to the new mandates that go into effect tomorrow, Monday, December 13th.
We are not able to allow vaccinated members to go maskless while unvaccinated members wear masks.  There must be one policy for all members.
Given this requirement, all members and guests must wear a mask throughout their visit at the Y in Oneida and Rome.

We are continuing to make positive progress on the reopening of the Oneida Family YMCA pool! This week, we have completed the filling, which has taken significantly longer than ever expected due to the flushing of fire hydrants in the City of Oneida at the same time as filling. We are now working on the balancing of chemicals and reheating of the water.

We are not yet ready to announce a reopening date, but it will be open as soon as we are safely able to. When the pool opens, we will also open our locker rooms with safety protocols in place.

We have received many requests from members in regard to classes and schedules and what to expect when the pool does reopen. We are posting our pool schedule for you in advance,
PLEASE NOTE- this schedule will not begin until our pool is ready to open.

Thank you for your patience and support during this trying time- we are working hard to provide you with the best services possible and as quickly as possible.

NYS Guidelines and mandates for reopening gyms require inspections and approval from our local County Health Departments. We reached out to both to request our inspections and are awaiting dates. The inspections also require approval of Heating/Air Conditioning/Ventilation units with a minimum of MERV13 rating. We have also requested inspections of our systems in this manner. Once the health departments in Madison and Oneida County give our Y approval to reopen, we will announce the date immediately. These procedures are all a part of required opening procedures consistent with CDC guidelines and safety protocols and were expected. We know and understand the guidelines are restrictive, but we will do our best to help you through the process.

In the meantime, please continue to enjoy this great weather, and register for our outdoor classes. We are running over 40 classes a week between our two branches and members are enjoying them very much. Thank you for your understanding and patience. As always, throughout this entire pandemic, we appreciate our members who have stayed with us and kept their memberships, which have allowed us to continue our operations. Without you, we would not be here. Thank you.

  • Only one waiver needs to be signed per household.
  • You will need to enter your last name and your membership card ID# (this is found on the back of your YMCA membership card)
  • Once we are open, you will not be able to enter the facility until your household's waiver is complete
  • For access to outdoor classes, you will also need to complete your household waiver.
