Gymnastics - (Grades K-8) 

Our seasonal gymnastics program is once again starting! This session, we are creating an opportunity for the older group to develop their gymnastic skills. The program will have all the same equipment as the RFA varsity gymnastics program uses. Our certified Gymnastics instructor, Shannon Rounds, will focus on skills with the beam, un-even bars, vault and tumbling! All levels and experienced gymnasts are encouraged to come try out our program!

LOCATION: Rome Stadium Support Gymnasium, 500 Turin Street, Rome

Gym and Swim (Ages 5-16)

Gym and Swim is a 7 week program designed for home schooled children to interact with their peers and stay active and fit. This program offers 45 minutes of structured swimming and 45 minutes of instructed gym time. Gym and Swim is a good way for kids to stay active, live healthy, and meet other home schooled children. 

DAYS: Tuesdays 2:00pm - 3:45pm 

COST:  $30 Members  $60 Non-Members

Zumba® for Kids! (Ages 5 and Up)

Kids are able to come enfoy all the benefits of Zumba®. This class helps develop and promote a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun. This class is open to children five and up. Our instructors are Nancy and Pilar.

 S.T.E.P. (Teens)

A multi-agency interactive program for teens in the Rome area.  This is a program designed to provide teenagers with the tools and knowledge that is practical within their lives.  The program runs every Tuesday and Thursday that school is in session.  It uns January 17th until the end of the school year.  Light snacks and beverage are served daily. Call our Rome Branch for more information!  (315) 336-3500

Swimming Lessons 

Teaching children water safety and the ability to swim is a primary goal of YMCA Youth Development programming. Lessons are divided by age and swimming ability and begin with parent/child classes and progress to independent advanced classes. Class days and times vary by your child's age and ability.

COST:   Preschool (6 month - 5 years)        Youth (6 years - 14 years)

Piano Lessons (Ages 4+ years - Adult)

Piano classes are so much fun at the Oneida Y!  With the YMCA piano lab, you will learn with the privacy of your own headphones so only you and the instructor will be able to hear!  Group lessons are available for youth and adults for beginners to advanced students.  Students are responsible for purchasing their own instructor recommended lesson book.  Class days and times vary based on age and ability.  Private lessons are available by request.

                                Youth  9:00am - 9:45am

               4 & 5 Year Old 10:00am - 10:45am

Autism Movement Therapy (Ages 5-18)

Through cognitive re-mapping, Autism Movement Therapy® is a sensory integration technique incorporating movement and music.  This class helps both sides of the brain connect and work together, typically improving language skills.  Taught by Certified Autism Inclusion Specialist, Mikayla Manner.

Gymnastics (PreK- 6th Grade)

This 7 week gymnastics class is designed to build confidence and skills in a safe environment.  This co-ed class will focus on general body awareness, beginner-level skills, developing strength and endurance and is designed for a recreational-level of the sport of gymnastics.  Taught by USA Certified Gymnastics Coach, Larisa Watts. 

DAYS:  Level I (Beginner) -       Fridays 4:00-5:00pm

                                                 Sundays 1:00-2:00pm

           Level II (Intermediate)-  Fridays 5:00-6:00pm

                                                 Sundays 2:00-3:00pm

           Level III (Advanced)-      Fridays 6:00-7:00pm

Youth & Teen Nights- Every Saturday Night!

Our Y's goal is to promote safe and engaging activities to youth in a postive environment. To accomlish this goal, our Y is open exclusively to youth and teens on Saturday nights. Our staff is dedicated to giving youth a great evening of fun and entertainment. We will offer many engaging activities each week that will encourage building new friendships.

DAYS: Every Saturday

Youth- Grades K-5     5:30pm - 7:30pm

Teens- Grades 6-12   8:00pm - 9:30pm

Children’s Film Making

Children's Film Program & Acting

This exciting and educational hands-on film making course introduces your child to all the major tasks involved in getting a film produced. The Program will include 28 weeks of on-camera acting, screen writing and producing. Students will collaborate on out their own professional screen play that will allow each "crew" member to experience their contribution in varying production roles. At the end of their film making journey they will experience a "Red Carpet" moment by having their very own film premier with family and friends to enjoy.

After twenty two years working in Hollywood, as both an Actress and Production Manager at three major studios, Instructor Chase Clifford has returned to the area to teach this fully professional project.

Skills, drills, scrimmages and games. This program is designed to

teach basic basketball skills, rules and sportsmanship. Combining

these will provide a friendly  but competitive atmosphere.
